Sovereign Lord of Creation, who
Drapes morning mist across the hillsides,
Paints the dawn with ever-changing hues, and
Scatters sparkling crystals of dew on grass and flower,
I worship you with incredulous wonder.
Sovereign Lord of Salvation, who
Gave your precious Son, the King of kings,
To die a cruel, criminal’s death for my sin, and
Provide the way of eternal life,
I worship you with overflowing gratitude.
Sovereign Lord, who
Now considers me righteous,
Making possible an intimate relationship with you, and
Granting perfect peace and effervescent joy,
I worship you with a humbled spirit.

Sovereign Lord of Affection, who
Mercifully withholds the punishment I deserve,
Graciously bestows blessings I have not earned, and
Carries me close to your heart,
I worship you with overwhelming love.
Sovereign Lord of Revelation, who
Gave us your timeless, trustworthy Word, that
Offers infallible wisdom, inspired instruction, and
Encouraging promises to lead us and lift us,
I want to worship you with my obedience.
Sovereign Lord of Transformation, who
Actively pursues my best interest,
To mold me into the image of Jesus
With ever-increasing splendor,
I want to worship you with my submission.
Sovereign Lord of Distinction,
There is no one like you.
Your greatness is beyond human comprehension.
I stand in awe of your splendor and majesty, and
I worship you with all that is within me.

Thank you, Lisa. I do love to expand my own awe and wonder of our glorious Heavenly Father. Worship produces joy in our hearts and brings him pleasure also!
Ecclesiastes 8:17 “then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.”
Thank you Lawrence for adding this appropriate scripture to the conversation!
You’re welcome Nancy, thought it might add some dimension to the subject at hand. As this following quote should I hope as well, because of what the Scriptural verse makes clear, “Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.” And case in point with the following passage, one of the most brilliant of human minds said it too. Rather humbling to say the least; but a very healthy perspective!
“The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms – this knowledge, this feeling is at the centre of true religiousness.”
-Albert Einstein – “The Merging of Spirit and Science”
Our God is so full of awe, mystery and beauty indeed, it makes me want to meet Him so much more than I can describe, and I have to pray that at the appointed time I will be found worthy enough to hear Him say; “Wonderful!” his master replied. “You are a good and faithful servant. I left you in charge of only a little, but now I will put you in charge of much more. Come and share in my happiness!” Matthew 25:23
We can only hope that Einstein found the centre of true religiousness–in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lawrence, for including his thought-provoking quote.
I agree Nancy! But what actually made me happy to read about Einstein was how he wasn’t like so many scientists who often times abandon religion or say they are agnostics and even outright atheists; if he were bluntly saying that he would have caused me to pity him as a fool; having such great intellect but not being able to ascertain the obvious to me Truth of Jesus Christ! But let’s not forget that even C.S. Lewis who had such a remarkable and profound positive influence on Christendom had gone from being a believer in Jesus Christ to being an admitted atheist after the loss of first his mother, only to eventually make a complete turnaround after a final discussion some years later with his very close friend and colleague J. R. R. Tolkien! This meeting with Tolkien and their depicted conversation which I include here in the reenactment video is what led to his conversion several days later from being an announced atheist to again being a devout faithful Christian.
But Einstein is quite a different individual and set of circumstances, as for example he was quoted as saying in the following; while he was speaking with other physicists was known to have said during a discussion about the “Big Bang Theory” in which one scientist said that with enough random events occurring in this pre-millisecond before it happened eureka the right combination occurred, when Einstein just plainly said; “God doesn’t roll dice.” So my thought for him is he had a keen insight into God’s presence and reality like few people can achieve with our limiting cognitive faculties; and because of his respect and hope I tend to think that his love of God was present and genuine; therefore we can say; God will judge accordingly, I know for myself Einstein was a good and respectful soul in this world, so I do wish him well. If even at the end of his life he truly found Jesus and loved Him he could be saved and there are so many in this world that will be like a Dismas, in the last lap and finally wake up fully; God will judge that!
The video sure relates to what I see Einstein delving into as to what is real is so much more than what we can comprehend!
Very true, Lawrence!
Yes Nancy it all puts a smile on my face!
I just was hiking with my dog just minutes ago and ran into this young man I know from the neighborhood and we had an extensive conversation about “this very subject” which was very inspiring for both of us! So many amazing dots as I see it were being connected that absolutely illustrate His presence in our daily lives! As we talked this man Jake even mentioned how a soldier was saved by a mysterious event, as soon as I mentioned how I would have drowned many years ago when I foolhardily went surfing just as a hurricane had passed by the area; but as I was caught in the undertow and ran out of breath, I asked Jesus to “please save me, don’t let me die” and an event occurred that was miraculous, no doubt about it! All of this brings me to a Scripture!
1 Corinthians 2:8-10 “None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9Rather, as it is written: “ No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”
Beautiful.
Thank you, Anna! Praise God you found beauty here.
