I’m honored you’ve chosen to stop by From the Inside Out–a place where we celebrate inner impressions from the Holy Spirit, and aspire after outer expressions that bring delight to God.
Of course, the most obvious source of impression is scripture. That’s why I love Bible study. The thrill of discovering truth-gems never grows old! Here at From the Inside Out, we turn often to scripture.
But Spirit-inspired impressions can happen anywhere at anytime. God continually manifests himself. He is always working, always speaking, always loving.
In addition, our Heavenly Father is very creative in the ways he reveals himself. We just need attentive eyes, ears, and hearts to notice.
My favorite form of expression is worship—not just on Sunday morning, although singing with my church family is high on the list of favorite things to do. However, I’m discovering the joy of proclaiming God’s goodness throughout each day.
Such proclamations include praise for:
- a supportive, thoughtful husband
- three children, now leading productive adult lives, in spite of my parenting failures
- three delightful in-law children, whose company we greatly enjoy
- three spunky granddaughters, fourteen, ten, and six years old
- many family members and friends with whom to share life
God also impresses upon me his goodness through these blessings of which I’m especially fond:
- birds, clouds, and rainbows
- miraculous, God-engineered circumstances
- rose-colored glasses that cast a lovely glow on much of the past
- coffee, dark chocolate, and popcorn!
- words (Isn’t it wonderful that The Word allows us the sublime pleasure of communicating with words?)
- succinct, meaningful quotes—words at their best
Of course this is just a mere scrap of the list. God fills each day with his love-expressions. In turn they create impressions upon my heart. And in gratitude, I desire to be a love-expression myself. My guess is you feel the same.
Each Thursday I try to post a new impression, with the prayer that delightful expressions follow.
What a delight to find your blog up and running! You have much to offer many and I’m blessed to be one of the first to follow His Spirit as He works through you.
Thank you, MHK, for your ongoing encouragement!
I’m thankful that you are sharing encouraging words that draw us closer to Father and delight the heart. Thank you!
Thank you, T., for your kind words. I am honored that you find the blog encouraging and delightful. Praise God!
I get teased a lot in church about my ‘rose colored glasses’ outlook on life. It tickled me to see you reference the expression. It IS a nice way to see the world at times. I’ll be happy to follow your blog, Nancy. See you in choir tonight.
It’s a shame more people don’t pull out their rose-lensed glasses more often. They would experience a greater measure of joy, wouldn’t they. Thank you for becoming a follower, Grace. Looking forward to singing for joy in just an hour and a half!
What a beautiful way to share God and his blessings. I have never blogged before, somimhope this comes out right. Thank you again for sharing.
Your comment did indeed come out right, Rita. Thank you for taking the time to visit and share your encouragement. See you in Sunday School tomorrow!

Such a refreshing blog you got here. Glad I found it! Btw, your blog name from the inside out, reminds me of a Christian song with the same name. Both inspirational, your blog and the song! 🙂
Thank you, Kris–I’m glad you found the blog, too. At the time I named it, the song by the same title was not on my radar. Of course, after I named it, the phrase, “from the inside out,” turned up everywhere! So glad you’ve found inspiration here. I’m praising God for all his help along the way!
