Because God says we’re forgiven (Psalm 103:8-12), let’s refuse to dwell on past sins.
Sins are so remitted, as if they had never been committed.
Thomas Adams
Because God proclaims us righteous (1 Corinthians 1:30), let’s refuse to be haunted by past failures.
Do you know what you imply when you say that you are a Christian? It is that you are as guiltless in God’s sight as Christ Himself.
G. V. Wigram
Because God has already asserted his 100% approval of us (Ephesians 1:4-5), let’s stop pursuing perfection.*
Because God has made clear his love for us (Romans 5:8), let’s not tarnish that love with disbelief.
All shall be well, all shall be well . . . For there is a force of love moving through the universe that will hold us fast and never let us go.
Julian of Norwich
Because God pronounces each of us his masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10 ISV), let’s not berate his workmanship.
All who are in Christ form the highest, finest, and most beautiful expression of [God’s] thought and purpose. They are masterpieces upon whom he bestowed his best.
Herbert Lockyer, Seasons of the Lord, 330
Because God says, “Fear not” (Isaiah 41:13), let’s not doubt his unlimited power to help.
Because God affirms he’s our unfailing source of strength (Isaiah 40:29-31), let’s refuse to say we’re weak.
It is impossible for that man to despair who remembers that his Helper is omnipotent.”
Jeremy Taylor
Because God declares he’ll instruct us and watch over us (Psalm 32:8), let’s not strike out foolishly on our own.
With the goodness of God to desire our highest welfare, the wisdom of God to plan it, and the power of God to achieve it, what do we lack?
A. W. Tozer
Because God promises to work for our good (Romans 8:28), let’s not fret about the what-if’s.
Because God provides the way for victorious living (1 John 5:4-5), let’s not live in defeat.
Daily living by faith in Christ is what makes the difference between the sickly and the healthy Christian, between the defeated and the victorious saint.
A. W. Pink
This means, my friends, we can live each day guilt-free, grace-imbued, love-wrapped, purpose-filled, worry-free, strength-infused, fully-equipped, highly blessed, and victory-assured—because God Almighty says so!
*We don’t have to earn God’s love and acceptance. Neither do we have to pursue perfection, as if it’s necessary in order to please God or be accepted by him.

Sitting at the Cincinnati Nature Center reading your blog. I was reminded of a verse that says, ” It is God’s rich kindness, forbearance and patience that leads to repentance. Nancy so many uplifting reminders of God’s goodness and forgiveness. Thanks for writing!
You’re welcome, Sam. Thank you for reading and taking time to comment. I’m so thankful for scripture, with such verses as you mentioned, reminding us of what a wonderful God he is–and he’s OUR Heavenly Father!
I so needed all these beautiful reminders today, Nancy, of God’s all-encompassing love and grace that surround us each and every day. I will submit to all He wills for my life, knowing His purposes are always best.
Thanks, my friend, for this inspiration!
I’m so glad these reminders brought you inspiration, Martha! That blesses my heart too!
love this Nancy, I was taken by the phrase YET GOD ,,, the other day with the same power and hope.
Indeed, Christians can face some difficult and painful valleys, YET GOD supplies the power, encouragement, and hope we need to see us through to the other side! I’ve said it before: I can’t imagine life with him; I know you feel the same!
Sometimes all we need to know is ‘because God says.’
It is enough. He is enough!
Amen, Linda! We would complain less and worry less if we simply affirmed what God has already said.
It’s all about seeing from God’s perspective rather than acging like our lens is more correct than Gods.
Good reminder Nancy
Wise words, Gary. Perspective makes all the difference. One example I read (and try to keep in mind): instead of the negative approach that causes us to complain and worry, take the positive approach and say, “I wonder how God is going to bring good out of THIS situation?” I like that!
These reminders are so very necessary especially with everything that’s going on today
AMEN, Brenda! We have to keep our minds on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Phil. 4:8). What better than the attributes and promises of God?
Amen and amen 🙏🏽
I’m so thankful that we can trust God to be true to his words! So many beautiful promises here. Thanks, Nancy!
AMEN, Lisa–just one of his many awe-inspiring traits: Our God is 100% trustworthy. There’s great comfort and peace in that knowledge alone!
Nancy, these reminders are so needed always, but especially now. Thank you.
The world seems to be running off the rails, doesn’t it? Hallelujah our future is secure in a reliable, omnipotent, omniscient, and loving Heavenly Father!
God is “abounding in steadfast love”, which is why Psalm 103 is my favorite.
Oh Robert, it’s one of my favorites too! I memorized it a few years back and still marvel in all its delightful truths each time I review. Perhaps my favorite verse: “He knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust” (HCSB). How unfathomable that all the glorious benefits David enumerates through the chapter–for imperfect, sin-susceptible me. Mind-boggling!
Truly comforting and reassuring reminders of the value God places on His children. Twice in the past week the Lord gave me Psalm 91:4: “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” (ESV) He wants us to to feel protected and secure regardless of the circumstances of the world. (I really enjoyed the format of this week’s blog!)
A wise insight, Cheri. God’s refuge and faithfulness are not given only because we need them, but because he loves us, HIS heart is blessed when we avail ourselves of all he has to offer. Thank you for adding that encouraging scripture and your helpful comment!
Thank you for this precious , very important post. Sin easily makes me drift away from God not realizing or remembering God is here to cleanse and free me from them. God bless.
It’s a learning process, isn’t it! Praise God, he’s a patient teacher. “He knows what we’re made of, remembering that we’re dust” (Psalm 103:14 HCSB).
What an encouraging post. His love for us pours out of every word in the bible, every story.
Thank you, Betty, and AMEN to your comment. His goodness (which expresses his love) is so abundant he has to store it up (Psalm 31:19)!
I love these reminders of our security and position in Christ. I especially love the phrase in Oswald Chamber’s quote-“the ordinary essence of life”. This reminds me of the the verse in the song,”‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus”: Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus, Just from sin and self to cease; Just from Jesus simply taking Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.
I’m so glad, Beth, you quoted that particular verse from that old hymn! So appropriate. Just reading the lyrics can lower blood pressure as we remember all that Jesus has done for us, and all He’s doing in the present. His promised rest, joy, and peace are available for the asking!
Thank you for all these very comforting reminders of God’s faithfulness to me in absolutely every area of my life. I have no reason to be discouraged or doubtful after reading these wonderful affirmations. Blessings, Nancy, and thank you!
I’m so glad you found comfort and encouragement in this post, Patty. Praise God for his inspiration!
Nancy,
This is fitting in that I am struggling in my faith right now. It’s not a doubt in the Lord but the condition of my heart. That is a battleground for sure. The Lord bless the works of your hands.
In Christ,
Gary
Oh, Gary. I am so sorry you are struggling in your faith right now. I pray you have a Christian brother or two with whom to share, and who can pray for you. Meanwhile I pray that God makes your path straight out of the battle.
Thank you for encouraging and lifting our hearts with these truths, Nancy. I love how you start each truth out with “Because God…” Yes! Love and blessings to you!
Thank you, Trudy. Praise God for his inspiration! As we both know, without him our efforts would be weak!
The very first passage on the list (from Psalm 103) sticks with me even after reading through all of the others. I’ve never read all the way through Psalms but I should. Talk about “words of wisdom”!
Psalm 103 is one of my favorites–so uplifting! Another one that never fails to encourage: Psalm 145. For sure, a read-through of the psalms is well worth the time and effort!
Love the quotes Sis!! 👍💗🕊📖😇
Thank you, Roland!
