My mother suffered a stroke yesterday. She’s paralyzed on her right side, cannot see or talk. Some of you know she has been the primary care-giver for my dad. Now both of them will be in need of care.
I am flying to Texas tomorrow, to help in whatever way I can as my brother, sister-in-law and I seek God’s wisdom for the path ahead. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf.
God will see us through, as he always has and always will. “The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant” (Psalm 35:27b). Mom and Dad have been faithful servants for many decades. God WILL provide!
I won’t be able to post until I return home; hopefully that will be Monday, October 13.

Nancy, So sorry to know about your Mom. I has a sweet visit with her yesterday. She held my hand and kissed it. She did the same with a couple other visitors. Visited your Dad this a.m. He seemed very sad but very lucid in knowing me. I will talk to J and C later regarding needs tomorrow. Some meals covered through Monday. Will coordinate more on Monday. Have a safe trip.

So much love to you, dear Nancy. So, so sorry for this. Been down this road a long time now and it’s just hard and sad. Thankfully, God is always faithful and even these hard things sparkle with redemptive good here and there. Praying for all of you as you make tough decisions.
Guy & I pray: God, please be ever present with Nancy, Steve, their parents, and the family. Lord, while we may be surprised by the turn of events in our lives, you have told us that you go before us, surround us, and after us. Give rest, strength, and your mind and wisdom for every need.
