SO many! If I had to pick one it would be the joy that comes from knowing He is with me always. We have a friend who never married, has no children, and doesn’t believe in God. She’s doing life at nearly 80 in such fear of the future it breaks my heart. Another friend who has been alone for many years but walks so closely with Him sometimes it’s hard to tell where she ends and He begins. I love them both dearly – weeping for one, rejoicing for the other – how different life can be for those of us that know the gift of His grace.
AMEN, Micki. How different life can be when we know the gift of God’s grace! That one word–grace–does indeed cover his infinite blessings. May that friend decide she’s DONE with fear and open her heart’s door to Jesus, the Prince of peace and Giver of grace.
And to you and yours, dear Nancy!
Thank you, Sheila! P.S. Just how do Americans in Italy celebrate Thanksgiving dinner?! Must you make substitutions for turkey, cranberries, etc?
I love it when I know God answers my prayers, even when something different to what I expected turns up … especially when it’s something different because it’s usually a big surprise. Happy Thanksgiving to you! 🙂
Oh, yes, Lesly! Answered prayer IS an immense grace from our Heavenly Father. And you are so right: His answers often do surpass our expectations!
Aside from the gift of Salvation…I am most grateful for the Mom the Lord gave me. She led me to the Lord when I was five years old and has been a real supporter, encourager, and overcomer, thus providing me with the very best example of what a Christian woman should strive to be. I am so blessed to still have her.
Praise God for godly mothers! Their influence spreads far and wide, beyond the doors of their homes. I am so glad He has honored your mother with a long, productive, and blessed life. (P.S. I’m quite sure she’s most grateful for YOU, Cheri!)
Hi Nancy,
I am Thankful for the little details that the Lord cares about in my life. If He cares about the little silly things then the larger more pressing things are not a problem I should worry about.
Thank you,
Gary
Indeed, the attentiveness of God over the little details (like a lost bracelet found, a pie for company rescued from burning in the nick of time, a favor from an acquaintance to ease a stressful day) does build our faith for the larger problems. God is SO gracious to us!
Yes, God is in the perfect details.
The beauty of a snow storm. The grace is God giving the capacity of, even the concept of, “beauty “.
The beauty of nature all around us is definitely a gift of God’s love, and a ground-covering, tree-frosting snowfall is a perfect example. A thick blanket offers the extra blessing of peace and quiet also (as long as I don’t have to drive in it!)
For me, it is how God coordinates everything about my life, how he is always working things out in my life for my good, even the hard things. It is how I see his love and grace active in bringing this person across my path or this situation or that in which he has something he wants to do, and in which he wants me to participate in one way or another. And, then it is to just watch him do what he does. He is so amazing! All I have to do is just listen to him and then do what he says to do and he works out all the details from beginning to end.
The life of faith IS a very precious gift of God’s love, as he becomes our strength and guide, provider and caregiver, etc. As a result we can experience such peace, joy, and contentment. Thank you, Sue, for your thoughtful comments!
This is a beautiful thought and inspirational too. Being present, fully present and beholding the gift of life itself. Yes, yes. Thanks, Nancy.
You have taught me much, Jean, about being fully present to behold God’s gifts of life. So thank YOU, Jean!
Yes, whatsoever we are today it’s because of the Lord. Thanks a lot .🌹🙏
Amen, Francis. I hate to think where I would be today WITHOUT Jesus!
Amen, your faith will keep you close to Jesus.🙏🌹
Nancy (even though I am a little late), I am so grateful for the faithful witness of so many people around me. You are one of them 🙂
Oh, Heidi–I am honored!
I am learning to be thankful for just being. Some days I stand quietly and watch the sky, marveling at the creative genius of God and humbled by His love for me.
I’m guessing your effort and attitude coalesce into a delightful moment of intimacy with your Heavenly Father! Thank you for sharing your experience, Beth. We’d all do well to follow your example.
